Discover Your Perfect Summer Day

May every sunrise hold more promise and every sunset hold more peace.

HELLO!

Are you making the most of your summer?

The heat can hamper the outdoor summer fun in some locations.

Here are the outdoor activities that have kept us going-

HIKING

Even on the hot days, you can still hike!

The saving grace in the Ozarks is the tree protection from the direct sun. So while it's still hot (in the 90's), a hike is doable with some extra planning and precautions.

My most recent excursion was Ha Ha Tonka State Park.

RIVER TIME!

To me, summer equals river time! Whether that be kayaking, or relaxing in the river. The past few weeks have been more of the latter.

If you are lucky enough to find a secluded, or semi-secluded area of the river, there's nothing better than setting your chair in the river and relaxing with a drink.

To beat the heat, and for some added oomph to the experience, try this at sunset!

INDOOR TIME

On the hottest of the days, we find adventure indoors.

Our newest experiences are escape rooms! Our groups involve ages 13 through 65 with everyone enjoying the fun!

This month we have tried 2 escape rooms and have a 50% success rate.

If you haven't tried on of these yet, I encourage you to give it a try!

We used Experience Escape Rooms in Cave Springs, AR, and had a fantastic experience!

What's Next?

August is on deck! Some ideas laid out for activities in the area are

--> Motorcycle Poker Run

--> A Concert (check nearby casinos for some great music!). If you are a 90's country fan, Doug Stone will be at the Siloam Springs Cherokee Casino in August.

--> Kayaking! We will definitely get a float in on the Illinois River since that one is less affected by low rainfall. If the water cooperates, maybe a float on the lower Buffalo River.

--> Sunrise or Sunset hike at Whitaker Point

“ "Blessed are the curious, for they shall have adventures." — Lovelle Drachman Hello Friends! Living in the Ozarks is like having a giant outdoor playground in your backyard — every day is an opportunity for adventure! Whether it's kayaking the crystal-clear waters of the Buffalo River or hitting one of the many scenic trails, there's no shortage of ways to enjoy the beauty here. I just finished hiking Hemmed in Hollow-home to the tallest waterfall between the Rockies and the Appalachians —...

“ “How many lessons of faith and beauty we should lose, if there were no winter in our year!” — Thomas Wentworth Higginson Hello! Yes. It's COLD! But there is still outdoor adventure to be had. January's adventures were beautiful! Thank goodness for 4x4's which allow us to explore country backroads during the snow. An amazing adventure option is White Rock Moutain for some amazing views in Arkansas. This one requires quite the drive down some dirt roads, but the payoff is amazing! Be sure to...
