Embrace the Chill

“How many lessons of faith and beauty we should lose, if there were no winter in our year!”
Thomas Wentworth Higginson

Hello!

Yes. It's COLD! But there is still outdoor adventure to be had.

January's adventures were beautiful!

Thank goodness for 4x4's which allow us to explore country backroads during the snow.

An amazing adventure option is White Rock Moutain for some amazing views in Arkansas. This one requires quite the drive down some dirt roads, but the payoff is amazing! Be sure to take along $3 to put in the drop box when you park.

One of my recent favorite outdoor spots is Roaring River State Park in Missouri. If you haven't visited this place yet, GO!

HOT TIP! The eagles love this place!

And many times in January we stayed closer to home, exploring the roads around Siloam Springs and taking the beauty of City Lake (and the Kayak Park!)

The new adventure location of January for us was Dogwood Canyon. I cannot believe I waited so long to see this one. Check out the full details in the article link below.

What you need to know to plan your perfect adventure.

But honestly, everywhere is pretty beautiful right now.

Time for February Adventures!

I have strong goals to keep the adventure and travels going (in between 3 jobs and a family life). Each month I have goals of

-visiting a new spot

-going on at least 1 hike

-getting into nature weekly

-trying one new thing

Up first for my ONE NEW THING for February- A Polar Plunge!

It sounds crazy. And I don't love the idea. But we are supporting Special Olympics Arkansas. Please consider donating to this amazing cause! (and holding me accountable for the plunge!)

“ “The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams.” — Oprah Winfrey Hello! We are well into November and the year is coming to an end. But that doesn't mean the adventures have to end. Winter is an amazing time for hiking! Why? No bugs, no people, and unobstructed views! Lace-up those hiking boots and take off to your favorite outlooks! In Arkansas, there are still some colorful leaves in the trees. But that will soon be gone, leaving bare trees and beautiful views of...

“ "True life is lived when tiny changes occur." — Leo Tolstoy Hello! Well, it's been a minute. Life has changed and shifted my path, resulting in new life adventures. Losing my job of almost a decade was a blow at first. But then... I viewed this as an opportunity. I saw this as life changing my direction. It is the set of the sails, not the direction of the wind that determines which way we will go. -Jim Rohn The new: I got my therapist license in 2 new states (heeeey there Oklahoma and...

“ "Change is painful, but nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don't belong." — Mandy Hale Hello! Change is the word for this season of my life. I recently got the news that my beloved job of almost 9 years will not be available starting next month. At first, this was devastating. But then, I thought of all the possibilities for the next season of my life. And I'm excited! Of course, the adventures shall continue, and maybe even GROW! What's Next? For the first time in...
