Shifting Back to Adventure Mode...

Adventures don’t come calling like unexpected relatives; you have to go looking for them.

Hello!

The NWA tornado clean-up efforts have been going well! My parent's house was an instant total loss. But they are recouping well at my house and clean-up is moving along. The next step? REBUILD!

If you would like to follow the clean-up and rebuilding efforts, hop on over to my Facebook Page!

Since the clean-up efforts are slowing down (waiting on all of the insurance stuff to process) my mind is shifting back toward adventures!

What's Next?

We don't have many more immediate hikes planned in Arkansas since the temperature and humidity are rising. So activities are shifting to the water!

ON TAP:

A day of boating on Missouri's Table Rock Lake for Father's Day

Illinois River kayaking (my faaaav!)

Possibly Buffalo National River floating (more hit and miss since it's 2 hours away and rainfall dependent).

And of course, an upcoming ROAD TRIP (dates TBD)!

We haven't been on a road trip since spring break. The camper van is fresh out of the shop, so I'm planning our next trip. We are short on time and have visited all Arkansas State Parks. So what's next? One of my bucket list items-

Burgess Falls State Park!!!

At a 9.5-hour drive, we are planning this in a 4-day road trip (hopefully hitting a couple of other Tennesee State Parks along the way).

It should be full of adventure, hiking, and waterfalls. All of my favorite things in life!

My go-to for planning road trips? Roadtrippers!

A frozen lake surrounded by brown, leafless trees. In the foreground, tall dried reeds with fluffy cattails stand against the bright blue sky. The scene conveys a cold, serene winter landscape.

“ “How many lessons of faith and beauty we should lose, if there were no winter in our year!” — Thomas Wentworth Higginson Hello! Yes. It's COLD! But there is still outdoor adventure to be had. January's adventures were beautiful! Thank goodness for 4x4's which allow us to explore country backroads during the snow. An amazing adventure option is White Rock Moutain for some amazing views in Arkansas. This one requires quite the drive down some dirt roads, but the payoff is amazing! Be sure to...

“ “The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams.” — Oprah Winfrey Hello! We are well into November and the year is coming to an end. But that doesn't mean the adventures have to end. Winter is an amazing time for hiking! Why? No bugs, no people, and unobstructed views! Lace-up those hiking boots and take off to your favorite outlooks! In Arkansas, there are still some colorful leaves in the trees. But that will soon be gone, leaving bare trees and beautiful views of...

“ "True life is lived when tiny changes occur." — Leo Tolstoy Hello! Well, it's been a minute. Life has changed and shifted my path, resulting in new life adventures. Losing my job of almost a decade was a blow at first. But then... I viewed this as an opportunity. I saw this as life changing my direction. It is the set of the sails, not the direction of the wind that determines which way we will go. -Jim Rohn The new: I got my therapist license in 2 new states (heeeey there Oklahoma and...
